Newer clean vet office that we used for the first time in an emergency. They had availability to get our cat in right away and assist.
Staff has been welcoming and great. Doctor Kim was very informative on the steps they were going through and they send a quote to you for approval on treatments they plan to do.
Prices are what they are in an emergency situation, so that is what pet insurance is for as well. Good experience and knowledge so far at Instavet.
Main communication can be handled through their text system. Questions/prescription info/etc.
Wish I could give 0 stars.
Disgusting establishment. Misdiagnosed my cousin's dog 3 weeks ago and told her that he had allergies. No one ran any tests to make sure of this. Let my cousin know that the dog is completely healthy and everything looks great. He passed away 3 days ago from LUNG CANCER.
You should all have your licenses taken away. You are a disgrace to the medical field.
Because of Dr. Lee and the incredible animal-loving staff at InstaVet, my cat Beverly is now cancer free! Mass Cell Tumor removal surgery that went as well as one could expect, don't even leave much of a scar when it healed. Kudos to InstaVet!
I took my cat after 1 day of having pupils showing different sizes. I explained the the doctor that I used a pet ear cleaning solution and an ear mite drops - brought both in. I also explained that a year earlier, my cat had ataxia (losing balance) and was diagnosed with otitis media/vestibular disease. After a quick check of eyes and ears (there was fluid) and feeling the body, he prescribed 7 days of Clavamox, 2x day. My cat was alert when I took him. After first dose he became lethargic. Gave him 2nd dose 12 hours later at 10:45pm. At 3am I woke up to my cat yowling and in a position that looked like he was paralyzed. Took him to emergency at Schwarzman Animal Medical - horrible experience there too. The vet industry feels like it is all about money and rampant with incompetence. I got charged at InstaVet $139 for a “comprehensive exam” which it wasn’t. I emailed with pictures and videos - not one call from the doctor. If it were not for my cat’s foster mom, he would be dead right now. Shame on you. And Schwarzman Animal Medical Center is worse.
There has to be a veterinarian moral ethic that you guys do not have. When money becomes the priority, and the animals are just dollar signs to you. Not only did you miss diagnose our good boy. Saying he was fine just allergies sending him home in pain and for us to watch him deteriorate in pain without us, knowing he was in pain. Words can’t describe how our whole family is feeling. He wasn’t just a pet to us. To my sister, he was her son. To my mother, her grandchild. To me, my nephew. He suffered in pain till the day that he passed. So my review and my opinion on you and your facility. That you guys close down immediate. And may God forgive you. His name was Ryder not your dollar sign
They shaved off 3 of my cat's nipples while shaving her belly for an ultrasound but they didn't tell us until we saw the bleeding when we got home! And we sent them a photo of the bleeding spots and asked for an explanation and they said they didn't know I needed to be informed of this issue!! That doesn't make any sense to me. We have doctors in the family and we know what the basic medical professional conduct should be. This is very dishonest, irresponsible, and unprofessional! We sterilized the wounds immediately and thank god she didn't get infected! We were very heartbroken and furious!
My cat had a UTI twice in a 5 week span, and we went to them for care twice. They suggested a urine test each time. The result of the first urine test came back after a week and apparently didn't have enough insight. In the meantime, they prescribed an anti-biotic for a 7-day course. However, after the result came back, we were not provided any follow-ups so we thought our cat is clear since she didn't have the symptoms anymore. But apparently the bacteria that caused the UTI was not killed completely and came back in 3 weeks. They didn't think the UTI would come back that soon so they prescribed an anti-inflammatory instead this time. It didn't work after 3 days. So we went to them again and they recommended an ultrasound to look for a bladder stone and a urine test (this costs another nearly $1000). After leaving my cat with them for the entire day, they failed to collect any urine and told us to pick her up and they will collect the sample after a 10-day course of the same antibiotic as the first time.
After we finished all the medication, we went back for a urine test and the ultrasound last week. After 4-5 hours leaving my cat with them, they called me saying that my cat was ready for pickup but when I got there, they told me that they were still not able to collect the urine sample. I just don't understand how difficult it could be to collect a urine sample and why they called me to run over there for nothing if they were not ready! My cat had been fasting for over 16 hours before the ultrasound per their request but when they asked me how often my cat pees at home, I asked them if they tried feeding her a little bit of food or water since she probably had a completely empty stomach, and they told me that they would ask the nurse. I just hope that didn't mean they actually didn't do it or hadn't even thought about doing it! So I went home and wait for a few hours. When I picked up my cat finally, they didn't mention anything to us and when we got home, that's when we found out about the accident and bleeding!
I gave 1 star because thank god my cat is fine now from both UTI and her nipples being cut, but after charging $2k, they should show some genuine care to animals even though they are "just" cats.
Nemo(cat) and I had an amazing experience at the clinic. The staff are all so friendly and patient, esp the nurse, Nadeema, she was so understanding and helpful in explaining each steps of the tests and possible surgery. Gave lots of great recommendations for hospital, and I receive many good advice from her. There is also no surprise charges, they only offer the absolute necessary tests for you which I appreciate so much as I often get overcharged with exams and fees.
Could not recommend enough! We are new to the area and haven’t had a chance to find a primary care for our dogs yet! Insta vet got us right in for a paw emergency and the staff was so kind and friendly to my sweet shy puppy! Pricing was presented up front and nothing was done until we signed a form. It ended up being cheaper then estimated which is a plus! We even received a first time discount! The doctor and her tech were super nice and explained everything to the problem and treatment and prognosis. She even consulted an outside doctor for their opinion to make sure my puppy received the very best care! Very thankful they were there to help us in this urgent matter- even with all the NYC flooding!
